Ryan Macauley is an investment and infrastructure finance professional with experience spanning international development finance, energy and critical minerals, and public-sector advisory. He currently serves as an Investment Officer at the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), where he structures and finances projects in strategic sectors across emerging and frontier markets, with a focus on energy, infrastructure, and industrial development.

Previously, Ryan has worked in international development and advisory roles with PwC’s International Development practice in South Africa and with UN-Habitat in Nairobi, supporting governments and multilateral partners on urban development, municipal finance, and capital-mobilization strategies. His work has involved close collaboration with public institutions, private investors, and development partners to advance complex projects in challenging operating environments.

Education: Ryan holds academic training in economics, urban planning, and finance, including an MSc in Finance from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, and a MA in City and Regional Planning from the University of Cape Town, with a dissertation on public finance mechanisms for urban infrastructure. Ryan also holds a BA in Economics from Morehouse College.
